It's not very often that you get asked to help create and shape a piece about what is essentially a cult from the 1800's in Upstate New York; so naturally I jumped at the opportunity.
Adapted from a packet published in 1872 detailing the birth control practices of the Oneida Community, Male Continence is part TED Talk and part dance theater. In this bawdy and volatile experimental work, one persuasive leader rides the edge of progressive thought while one eccentric community suppresses (and indulges) their whims for God’s sake.
I'm so excited to share this piece, and to show off this amazing cast and creative team's work!
